I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here

Yes. I watch this. There isn't a single person on this show I would say I'm a fan of, though Lou Diamond Phillips was in the Young Guns movies and I kind of enjoyed those at the time, and Stephen Baldwin was in The Usual Suspects, fer cryin' out loud. But otherwise? No investment other than the sick thrill I get from watching people who are attention-starved enough to agree to be on reality television break off little pieces of each other over several weeks. Generally I'd say these celebrities are fairly well-behaved. But in a few weeks Big Brother will be back on the air, and Dante will have to revise his Inferno to add another circle or two.

Today's Album of the Day: 7 Wishes by Night Ranger. A cultural four-hit wonder of an 80s rock speed bump when it comes to bands, but they were one of my favorites back then. I was a little disappointed to discover this album didn't really hold up well over time. I saw the band three times, including on the 7 Wishes tour at the State Fair, but listening to this album now and the 80s production it had just didn't allow me to romanticize these songs they way I once did. Oh well. The album served me well in those late 80s, so it will still always have its place in my history.

My day at work wasn't as brutal as it was yesterday, and our Dream Team did reclaim our mojo by the end of it all. Partially because we kind of worked at what we were supposed to but also kind of worked at it in our own approach, which may not have been exactly what we were expected to do. Taking all of the clocks and watches and phones out of that room would be an excellent way for some university students to conduct a time-deprivation study. We'd be clawing our way through the carpeted walls of the SDC in less than an hour.
