Day 8: An Experiment in Predictive Text Storytelling

Have you heard of predictive text? That's when your phone tries to anticipate what words you might be about to type and offers three choices for you as shortcuts. It can be useful, but also hilariously wrong.

I thought I'd try writing a post using the predictive text choices from my phone. I did add a few of my own words and punctuation marks just to stir up the algorithm, but no more than ten. Here's what my phone and I came up with:

I think it's time for me to get out of the house. I'm not sure if anyone else thinks this is a good idea. It feels like a long time coming.

The only reason I'm going to school is because I'm not having any other plans. I'm so happy for you and your family, and said we are all good for the next year.

I just woke up from a nap and now I'm watching the game show this morning. I don't think you could have been there for me, but I'm sure you can tell me what she was thinking.

The only reason why I'm still here attending this is the new book that I've never heard of before. However the new book has been since the beginning, I was just saying that the movie was not quite as good.

Whenever you want to be my best friend and you have all the time to talk with me, you will be my favorite.

Remember that time of year I didn't think would've been the same as my birthday, but she was just like you weren't even here.

If anyone else thinks I'm going to be the one who has a long story to talk about, and then will have the best idea to show, that is not quite enough.
