Last year I ate lunch with someone on my grade level team every day. On some days, if the daily newspaper kept in the staff lounge survived that late in the afternoon, I'd read through our horoscopes. We'd joke about what they said and try to wedge the predictions into the circumstances of our real lives. If you don't get a newspaper or don't frequent the horoscope department, you might not know they publish a special, detailed version each day for anyone with a birthday on that particular date. Since today is my birthday, I looked to see what foresight and wisdom was being offered on the same page as the Cryptoquip and "The Family Circus," because where else are you going to go for reliable information? My 2014 birthday horoscope (with annotations) reads as follows:
"You are highly intuitive now, reading the thought bubbles above people's heads. (Nobody who knows me would deny such an overwhelming truth as this.) June gives you a stage for your talent. (Have I mentioned enough how badly I want the school year to end so I can live the life of a full-time writer for a few months?) You have intense powers of focus and group support in July, so your ideas will take off like wildfire. (I'm assuming this means that whatever I come up with regarding this year's Relay for Life event in early August will be wildly successful, and hundreds, if not thousands of people will join my family to help us make this the celebratory event we'd like it to be. You can bet there will be more information coming about that.) September brings an important sale and the start of a lifestyle improvement. (Obviously this has to mean I'll have my revisions done by the end of the summer at the latest, and my agent -- let's say that part again, just for kicks, and let it sink in nice and slowly: ...my agent... will sell the manuscript early this fall and score me a nine-figure gold-plated advance that will have me buying new cars for everyone I know, unless they want boats or motorcycles or trucks; after all, why not share the lifestyle improvement far and wide?) Scorpio and Libra people adore you. (Hey there, all you Scorpios and Libras. What's up.... *wink*)
Looks like I've got quite a year ahead of me, doesn't it?
